Title: Architecture under microscope
Post by: szymon.bochenek on 2022-02-23, 13:19:57

I made some test renders inspired by electron microscope technology images.

Best regards,

That's some really unusual archviz! :)

Unusual indeed, but does electron microscope actually produces DOF? Just wondering.

HI! Good question!

Yes, it can produces DOF images:)

I guess that makes sense, sice they still have to gather electrons and focus them on sensing device by using aperture, or similar device. Same rules must apply.

Yes:)

Interesting fact about colours in these kind of images:
"Color is a property of light (i.e., photons), and since electron microscopes use an electron (color neutral) beam to image a specimen, there's no color information recorded. The area where electrons pass through the specimen appears white, and the area where electrons don't pass through appears black."
Beautiful colours in such images are added later in colouring postproduction process to make it more realistic or increase understanding of content for example:)

On YT there is very interesting tutorial about colouring electron microscope images:
