Title: Improve the way we save images in the VFB
Post by: Basshunter on 2022-02-18, 15:53:34
Any plan to improve the way we save images in the VFB?
We're really missing some basic features that would make our life easier such as the ability to store rendered images by project with all their post rendering corrections. Stored images should also remain after a new Max session, which is not happening right now.

Thats interesting. So essentially you want to have the VFB know which CXR is related to that project, and have them displayed and accessible via the VFB?

How would you keep track of the renders if you changed the max filename or its internal contents? I think youd need to manually assign renders to the project somewhere in the render settings to keep track of renders between file versions and at that point you might as well just have a well organised project folder.

Hey Jpjapers!

Correct. We would need an option to tell the VFB where to save/load the CXRs. This could be a custom path or the project folder path, for example.
In my case, I would benefit greatly from the latter since I use a project folder structure for every project. So a simple option like "Use project folder path" would do the trick for me.

Vray has something similar, by the way.

It would certainly be useful to be able to include saved renders in a/b comparisons.
