Title: rendering node procedure
Post by: fabio81 on 2022-02-18, 11:56:01
Hi,

in view of the new licensing system, what is the procedure to be able to send a scene only for rendering without using the GUI interface? Are there any third party plugins?

thanks

Render Nodes should never be using the GUI interface anyway - the same systems apply as currently. That is "Team Render to Picture Viewer" or "Team Render using the server" approaches (we have tested both).

Hi TomG!

and PV Render Queue - Niklas Rosenstein's works? the render would be launched without opening the scene

Not tested with that, we usually keep testing only to native tools (if anyone has tried it out, let us know! If it is based on the native C4D technologies, it should work fine I would expect - but you never know til it is tested of course!)

As a note TR to PV and TR server don't "open the scene" either at least in terms of running C4D, they just run the C4D Client which doesn't require a GUI (just as it doesn't require a second C4D license either - unlike actually opening C4D full on another machine, which is a whole other story :) )

how does one know when the image is ready in regard of noise without GUI ? i normally check that visually

i prefer seeing the render also on rendernodes (like with niklas tool, bit that needs a full lic in future i think))

I'm sure that two licenses will be needed... Team Render has the problem you just mentioned and moreover it is too delicate, just an assets problem and it crashes, or black holes etc ..

Can I just clarify this... we still need to Team render for network distribution don't we... there's no standalone distribution client all of a sudden?

Correct, no standalone, C4D's native network rendering is still used.

You're welcome! There is a lot in this release, it would be easy to miss something :) So always worth asking!

So I'll ask just this... is something like V-Ray Swarm on the horizon?

Best place to check the plans for the future as they are publicly announced (and they are "plans" so do change and are not fixed - things can appear or disappear) is over on the roadmaps at https://trello.com/b/EfPE4kPx/corona-tentative-road-map-3ds-max and https://trello.com/b/dgI8vjDb/corona-tentative-road-map-cinema-4d

Thanks TomG - yep I'm already a keen Trello watcher... it was just a cheeky ask :-)
