Title: Help achieving this plastic material (iridescent?)
Post by: caspian on 2022-02-08, 17:06:55
Can someone shed some light (pun intended… I think) on how to achieve the plastic look in this image. Specifically it's the way the light refracts into the colours (on the flat area, and also on the left side.) Thanks!

Hi, you can use the legacy material and the ''thin film'' shader for this. Adjust the thickness of the thin film to suit your liking.

... for a wavy pattern you control thin film variation with noise.

Just in case ;)

Thanks. Actually the wavy pattern was my next question. Do I put the noise in the texture channel of the Thin Film shader?

Having the same question as @caspian . Would you be so kind and share the exact Material Settings with us please? This Material looks exactly like what i want to recreate too.

Noise is applied as Texture for Thin Film shader Variation.
