Hi. I was just wondering whats the best way to create a grass lawn in Corona. I have some grass assets which are in grass clumps. I was just wondering how to create straight edges like in the picture attached? Or should I use hair to create the grasss instead of assets? Any advice much appreciated. ALso the assets I've tried make the pc render slow and crashes often.

When I need straight borders, I usually go the distance shader way (see attached file). Maybe the upcoming Chaos Scatter will offer something easier to setup.
As for your issues with the assets: depends on how they are made, so I have no idea and no advise other than "keep the total clone count as low as possible and use multi-instances".

Thanks for the info, I hadn't thought about distance shader. I've tried different assets, Graswald, Forester, Megascans. Using the Forester scatter and I had it set to multi-instance also.
Yes will be interesting to see Chaos Scatter too!.

You can use the hair system (and also layering cinema hair material, with corona materials), use your clumps or a combination of both, different results, less or more relistic, it depends from shot distance. Use Mograph cloner to distribute clump clones over a surface.

There is also this tool. Never used it, but it looks nice.
