Hi!
displacement shift dark with high image resolution..
displ.max.level: 1cm  / texture: noise shader
the bright one: 1500x960 sl:5
the dark one: 6000x3840 sl:15

what could I try to prevent that?

the problem was "Settings > Displacement > Screen size (px)" as default on.
