Chaos Corona for 3ds Max => [Max] I need help! => Topic started by: dj_buckley on 2021-10-12, 22:30:13

Seems like a basic question but ...
If I select 500 objects and add a UVW map, it just gives you a huge UVW map across the entire selection.
Is there any way to select multiple objects and add individual UVW maps (all with the same settings) but centred to the individual objects rather than the entire selection

Yes. From the help file:
"The first item in the Modifier List is a toggle called Use Pivot Points. This toggle is available only when multiple objects are selected."
Here's a link to the page:

Hope it helps

Wow, i'm working with 3ds max for nearly two decades and never knew that's possible. Thanks PROH for the info!

Amazing - and same as Romullus.
Thanks PROH

Awesome workaround I was unaware of it as well, alternatively you can also copy a single modifier from one of the 500 objects and paste it as instance on the rest, it yields the same results.

Yeah, this little trick is pretty hidden, and rarely (never ?) explained in any tutorial indeed. It's years now I explain this little feature to every person I teach 3dsmax to ;)
This can be very useful too for modifiers like XForm or other parametric modifiers like Bend or Stretch for example, given that each object's pivot is correctly placed of course !
Bye.
