Title: Corona 7 physical material
Post by: Vjaramillo on 2021-08-25, 23:16:12
I've noticed that there are few changes to how things used to work in the legacy material. Gloss roughness is reversed. Now lower numbers mean sharper reflections and higher ones means more blurred. Translucency controlled by Opacity?

That's right, by default microsurface in new physical material is defined by Roughness which works in opposite way than it used to in old Corona material - 0 means completely smooth surface and 1 is completely rough. If you don't like it, you can revert back to Glossiness. You can do it locally in each physical material (advanced options), or globally in render setup (system settings).

Translucency controlled by Opacity?

No, it's controlled by translucancy fraction, just like in old Corona material, but you need to enable thin shell mode in order to activate it.

Cool...Thanks.  I would be helpful to get some Corona feature video like before where you explain the new functionality.
