Title: Bad allocation Exception
Post by: M Nabil on 2021-08-05, 07:59:12
Hello :
Am facing some weird action after installing the latest corona render version, am currently working on a very simple file but some time after corona 7 was installed, crashing for a while then (Bad allocation Exception) shows up
I know what this error means but the same file was working on version 6  with the same of everything
FYI I have a 128 GB of ram
thank you

Did you check if task manager actually reports 128 GB? Maybe some RAM modules need to be re-seated?

Is it possible for you to send your file to us?

use the uploader link in my signature and once you have uploaded your file. Let me know the file name.

Also, try to check if you have any hardware issues regarding RAM before sending in the file. Also, is your scene using a lot of displacement? Does turning off displacement from Render Setup>Common>Displacement fix the issue?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Regards,
Avi

Does your scene have some displacement in it? Are you by any chance rendering using an orthographic camera? This is an unsupported scenario and it may cause RAM issues: https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/12000080846

yes I did check the task manager but I found that all ram is read by the system perfectly

Thank you for your help,

yes I've already a lot of displacement maps on this file but I will turn off the displacement option  and I hope this fixes the problem
I will let you know if this did not work too
