Hi

im Having a problem with some shadows. the shadows are created by the ceiling light tahts marked. used an area light for this and the light is emitted in watts. how can i avoid these hard shadows and turn it into a softer version?

Don't use area lights, those are C4D native. Use Corona lights instead.

Could be the scale of the scene in that case, shadows will naturally be soft when far away from the shadowcasting object and harder-edged when closer. May also depend on whether you have any directionality set for the lights (more directionality will lead to harder shadows, the default is none though so you'd need to have changed that).

THX
directionality was the key to correct shadow
