[april fools]
I managed to achieve an effect I learned some time ago with Brazil. Didn't know it's possible with Corona, though. :)
It's pretty simple, it requires only setting up a few layers of procedural translucency within composite map and the material needs to have some refraction level for the proper look. It's strangely time-consuming, probably because of heavy use of composite map. Material editor + scene setup screens coming soon, I have to clean up some things because now I'm getting a real mess in slate view. ;)

it rocks!

Woha! Looks really cool. Looking forward for screencap of your material editor.
-
Looks amazing! I'm looking forward to see this setup :)
-
Impressive! Can't wait to see the material setup.
This would come in super handy for something like a back lit onyx panel.
-
Thanks guys! I'll try to upload the setup pics tomorrow, I doubt I'll find time to do this today.

Way to go man! :-)

Does this have anything to do with April fool's day? Just wondering :)

Interesting...amused and awed...

I guess we have the perfect example of what is made our work of... amazing artists.
Maru achieve that badass shader with an alpha stage render engine while some other artists are a milky way of that using the top of the shelves engine out there for a millemnium... well, almost !
in a word Congrats ! And I missed Brazil so bad for soooo long after it was put to death by some pricks from the fake world of RT...
