Title: VDB cloud rendering within Corona, C4D?
Post by: blewis on 2021-01-09, 19:08:12
Hi Guys I see in 3DS Mex you can load a VDB but can we do this within C4D yet?

So far, you can use VDBs as meshes (with the native C4D VDB tools) that you fill with a volume shader. This works pretty well for clouds, but for V7 C4D the Max functionality is planned for C4D, too, which will enable you to render clouds, smoke, fire and the like, too.

Looking forward to that!

You can watch the tentative roadmap (https://trello.com/c/5TINlgLd/88-corona-volume-grid) and the daily builds thread where it will appear first (https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=30837.0)
