Title: Xeon "R" Designation
Post by: karlthh on 2020-11-16, 17:49:22
Hello all.  Does anyone have knowledge of how the "R" designation works on Xeon processors?
I am trying to figure out the difference between a XEON 5220 and XEON 5220R.  I've tried researching, but the little information I found didn't really help in terms of figuring what work better with Max/Corona.  The 5220R is a newer release by 10 months or so and has more cores.  But I don't think it means there is more to the processor, it perhaps is just split differently?  They are priced the same as well.

Grateful for any knowledge someone has on this.
Thank you.
