Title: Corona Color Correct and HDRI
Post by: travis.designer on 2020-10-11, 04:10:37
Hi
When I connect HDRI Bitmap with Environment map it work good. But When I connect HDRI Bitmap with Corona Color Correct then into Environment Map they will be wrong direction. How can I fix it in Corona 5?

Thank

We already have this reported in our internal tracker and it will be fixed in the upcoming versions.
I will also update this post with any news about the issue.

Wait, what? The HDRI does not invert on the U-axis unless it is piped into a CCC and then into Environment rollout?

I've been applying a -1.0 tile to my HDRI forever because of how Max internally transforms the environment map(?)

@cwidd, don't confuse native bitmap with Corona bitmap - the former is inverting spherical maps, the latter is not... unless it's plugged through CCC node.

So just to be clear, HDRI -> Corona Bitmap -> Corona Color Correct Texmap DOES produce an inverted (-1 U) representation, as does HDRI -> native 3ds Max bitmap. Otherwise, HDRI -> Corona Bitmap does NOT produce an inverted (-1 U) representation?

This is not about the 1/-1 U.
This is about rotating the viewport background by 90 degrees.
It's easy to check in 3ds Max. ;)

Hi,

Sorry for the lack of news on this one. It seems that this is really not an easy fix, we have tried a few times to fix this but it introduced other more serious bugs.

We have some ideas on how this can be fixed, but we are waiting on some information from Autodesk.

I'll do my best to keep you updated in the future.

Thanks,

Rowan
