Post by: funk24 on 2020-09-04, 09:31:40
good day

sorry for my bad english.
i have a simple room and illuminated with Corona Sun.
When i render the room (animation uhd cache)
the computin GI takes an extremely long time.
CPU usage max. 20%. CPU (AMD Ryzen 3990x)
3dsmax 2020 corona 6
Is this normal?

Hi,

Would it be possible for you to share your scene? It is quite difficult to tell what is normal without it.

Instructions on how to share the scene can be found in my signature.

Cheers,

Rowan

Hi,

Thanks for the reminder :)

How long exactly does the computing GI stage take on your system?

On my system (2950x) the GI computation is around 10 seconds.

Cheers,

Rowan

@funk24 - Everything works as expected here. The UHD Cache in animation mode calculates in 6 seconds for me (Ryzen 3900X). The 4K Cache in similar time. If switched to "still" preset, they both calculate pretty much instantly.
