Title: Noise in Animation
Post by: Fugo on 2020-08-20, 11:47:52
Hello everyone.
Need some advice for this animation. Especially for the noise on the building which is not lit by the sun.
Also on the "flicker" railings.

I addet a short clip and screenshots of the settings.

I was thinking, a noise level of 2.5 would be enough to solve that but it don“t.
Frames have been rendered on Renderfarm.

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

I can see the Environment pass is much cleaner than the Sun pass.
It is a Corona sun with Intensity 1.0 and Size 1.98.
Any ideas to clean that up?

I don't really see any incorrect render settings in your screenshots.
The attached avi does not show much noise or flickering, or at least I cannot spot it.
In the stills, it looks like regular noise smudged by the denoiser.

I would suggest:
1. Finding out whether the noise comes from direct or indirect lighting and then slightly adjusting the render settings (but just a little bit - never use extreme values!!) - https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000516731
2. Render out a few frames locally (not on the farm) with Intel AI denoiser instead of the Corona HQ one (this is mostly to compare which one does a better job in this case)

There could also be some kind of mistake in the scene setup, however that would require checking the scene itself. If you wish / are allowed to, you can share it with us. The uploader is in my signature.
