Title: Reflection Override Issue
Post by: dj_buckley on 2020-05-27, 14:58:31
Please see attached, can anybody explain why I get this harsh dark shadow transition when I enable reflection override, doesn't matter if the reflection override is white/black or a jpeg.

It's lit with a simply sun and sky system.

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean exactly. But if you are having issues with the jpeg having a much darker reflection than you expect then I'd say try going into the output parameters and raising the RGB amount to make it brighter. See if that helps. Make sure also the jpeg is set up so it's mapped correctly in the reflection slot. I don't know if you want it set to screen so it's reflecting as a screen background, or if you want it set to environment and spherical. So mapping could also be a contributing factor. You could also try a Corona Bitmap or a regular Bitmap and see if that changes anything.

There is no jpeg.  With a simple sun and sky, it looks as expected, the shadow from the frames etc transitions nicely.  If I turn on the reflection override I get that much darker shadow before it turns into the softer shadow

Can you please try and disable "Adaptive light solver" from your Performance tab and try again to see if the issue persists?
