Title: Problem with Global Volume Material and Corona Volume Grid in the same shot
Post by: AA1993 on 2020-05-15, 13:55:40
Hello,

We've been having this problem for some time now.

Basically, we have a scene with Global Volume Material applied, to add some nice foggy rays. Then we add a Corona Volume Grid and import our fire animation.

As soon as the fire animation within the Corona Volume Grid starts, a portion of Global Volume seems to disappear...

I've researched a bit and I believe this issue was fixed and patched in Corona 4?

(https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/12000040687 - scroll down to additional issues)

We pulled camera out and away from Corona Volume Grid's box. That didn't fix the issue.
We tried to render with Path Tracing. Didn't help.
We're using Corona 5. (Nov 9 build)

I'm hoping it's not because of the lighting in the scene, since we want to keep that. But if that's the problem let us know.

I'm attaching two renders to better visualize the issue.

Thanks for your attention and time.

That's really weird. I am not familiar with such an issue. Could you please send the scene to us and let me know what's the file name? Here is the uploader: https://corona-renderer.com/upload
Is this dark area the same size as the bounding box of the VDB fire?

That's right, dark portion is the same size with Corona Volume Grid.

Uploaded the file. It's named 1589616835_Volumetric-Problem.zip

Let me know if anything's missing. Thanks.
