The Imagery of an Interior Space (CGI)
it is been a long time since I posted here
A classic Scandinavian-style interior project I've been working on for a while with the goal to reach the highest realism possible with attention to detail.
I got inspired by the great realism of "Bertrand Benoit" CGI work so I set it as a goal when I first started this project.
I had to model a lot of assets since I couldn't find the right model in the design I had in mind.
of course, texturing is where most of the effort went in this one, a lot of fine-tuning to give the space and elements the right amount of wear and tear without being too obvious about it.
I experimented with a lot of different lighting setups and the images are a product of different HDRIs for every space.
I tried to design every image as it is its own project so every element can contribute to the likeness of the images.

I like the parquet floor. You managed to show nice amount of wear on it without adding excessive amount of scratches, or heavy grunge texture in glossiness. I must say the result is very plausible.

it was more time consuming than I imagined when I first started, I went through a lot of tweaking in the shading phase to maintain consistent quality across models and to make it close-up friendly and ended up sadly NOT rendering any close-ups :(

Very solid work, congrats! I very much like the kitchen cabinet design. The little brass knobs fit spot on.
Allow a little remark on those three kitchen lamps on the wall: their arms look a bit to too slim. Even if they are from steel... the cable is routed inside, so the wall thickness is a bit fragile considering the weight of the lamp head and the forces when you pull on them.
Maybe apply a different metal material on that lamp in the corner (in the other room), so it is not so similar to the legs of the armchair.
Also their metal material looks too clean & perfect. Add some fingerprints and a bit of aging.

you are right on this one, those lamps were a last-minute call so not a lot of attention was given to this part.
the lamp in the livingroom closeup has different material from the armchair legs, I guess the imperfections (scratches, rust on the joints, ...etc) were destroyed by the denoiser.
