Title: [solved] Bent reflections in the mirror
Post by: Evine on 2020-03-16, 08:16:54
Hey you guys.

I've just met a problem with the metal material in Corona that the straight lines are bent in the mirror. How can I solve this problem?

Besides, the reflections in the 2 mirrors, as is shown in the attachment, are divided into tow incoherent parts. How can I make them a complete one?

Advanced thanks

It's hard to tell from the image, but most likely reflections are bent because of smoothing issues with the mirror model. In 3ds max it's called smoothing groups, but in C4D its name probably is a little different. In short, you need to make sure that mirror surface is flat not only geometry wise, but also shading wise.

It's the phong angle in C4D. Reduce it to 0° for your case.

As mentioned by Mike, removing or disabling the phong should fix this.
