Title: [RESOLVED] Corona Light: Rectangle vs. Disk
Post by: cjwidd on 2019-12-21, 03:13:11
I was doing some tests and noticed that all things equal, a rectangular (square) Corona light with a radial gradient texmap does not produce the same lighting intensity as a disk Corona light.

I was just curious why that might be the case?

Did you match the lights by surface area or just by dimensions? Is the light output the same between the two if you remove texmap? Can you show some examples?

As romullus said please provide some screenshots.

My apologies, I posted this question without any examples right before the winter holidays. I am currently away from my workstation, but I will provide some examples illustrating the question ASAP.

It was an oversight on my part, after controlling for surface area, the resulting falloff is identical for a light rectangle and light disk at 0.0 directionality, almost up to 0.5 directionality.
