Title: Poor caustic performance on interior scene Corona 5
Post by: Rhodesy on 2019-11-07, 10:47:22
I've tried the new caustics on a few interior scenes so far and I cant seem to get clean caustics. The result is still what I would have imagined pre the new solver. I've attached an example below, 70 passes and the scene in general is pretty clean aside from the caustics. The main external glass is set to thin so that shouldnt confuse it. Is it designed for large internal spaces or more for small close up scenes?

Cheers

Thanks Rowmanns.

There are a load of xrefs in that file. I think I'll try stripping it back when I get chance and try and simplify it as best I can and see how that effects the caustics.

Hi,

Thanks, I have the scene.

There seem to be 3 different issues in this one thread. Can I confirm with you what your issue is? It's that your scene takes a very long time to render once caustics is enabled?

Can you also provide me with the specification of the computers you are using to render this scene?

Cheers,

Rowan

Hi, yes, i think it takes too long to render, the difference between caustics and o  caustics its too much, have  i9 and the rest are i7 all have more than 48gigas of ram, no  amd only intel
