Title: Corona Renderer, Animation Render Time and Render Farms
Post by: Rezoyen on 2019-11-05, 21:17:55
Hello everyone!

I've been working on a 3D promo video, entirely with Corona in Cinema 4D, It sure looks lovely. It's a 2000 frame render and each frame is taking roughly 3-4 minutes. I was aware that this would be the case but didn't realise how expensive render farms could be, I've had cheaper experiences with Zync which unfortunately doesn't support Corona so I'll be using Rebus. I do have a join-up trial credit of around £20 to my account which is pretty cool.

There are 6 scenes, roughly 350 frames each. I'll render 500f, leaving 1500 to be rendered. The price calculator is giving me an estimated minimum of £100 (-£20 = £80). I'd ideally like to minimalise this cost.

I moderately amped up my scenes in Corona to achieve beautiful stills, I'm hesitant to dial these settings back as I'm not sure how much of a performance boost I'll be gaining vs potential costs for third-party AE plug-ins, but currently, the render-time / render-farm costs aren't ideal.

I don't fully understand the purpose of this post. Are you asking how to optimize the scene to get as fast rendering as possible at some quality/bias cost?
