Title: reflexions on ground
Post by: celmar on 2019-11-02, 18:47:57
hi!!! I have in a scene two spheres (golf ball), which are with rather high reflections, and they are on a plane, white and with high reflections... One sky with an hdri provide  perfect (in my idea!) reflections on the balls... But not at all on the ground... is there a way to get no hdr reflections on the ground, but of course I wish to keep the reflections of the balls on the ground!...??? oh, I want to animate the scene, so compositing is not really an option! thank you for help!!!

Hi, I'm afraid this is not possible... You can exclude the whole sky from reflections, but then it won't reflect in the balls either. Selectively disabling reflections on certain objects is not possible. Of course, you can always make the ground less reflective or make the reflection less glossy. Would that maybe work for you?

As a note, in Max there is the option to use overrides for each material, for reflections and refractions. We plan on adding that same functionality into the C4D version of course (Internal ID=276744779)

Hey. This is a very old one.
I found it in the search thou and it's exactly what I#m looking for.

Is this possible meanwhile. I have the issue that I want the Sky only be reflected by the windows of a building and nothing else.

Would be very helpful.
Thx
Jay

You can use environment overrides in the Corona Physical Mtl for this.
