Title: Speed test question
Post by: lupaz on 2019-09-06, 01:47:12
Hi there.

I have the feeling that my renderings are taking longer than, say, pre-V4.
But I'm not sure if it's corona, my computer, or my imagination.
Attached I'm sending an image and the scene.
It's an extremely simple scene. After 1 minute rendering it looks like this.
Would you say this is normal?
I know, it depends on how fast the computer is. Mine is not great. Still, I'd appreciate if someone can tell me if there's anything wrong with the scene.

Thanks.

Best things to do are run the benchmark and compare results with others using the same CPU, to see if something is up with the computer (https://corona-renderer.com/benchmark), to install a previous version that you feel was faster and compare. At very least, post the Stats tab of the VFB that shows things like rays/s on it (along with the specs of your computer), as devs would know if that looks abnormally low.

The rendering looks fine to me except for the fact the HDRI is incredibly pixellated, not sure what is up with that.

Most likely that's because of disabled bitmap filtering.

Got it. Thanks Tom.

The HDRI is just 1K resolution. I really wasn't paying attention to the pixelation.
