You have a bitmap node, it is wired to a dozen other nodes.
You create another bitmap node. You select the former node, call "Replace Node With ..." and select the new node. The wires magically rewire to this node.

or get a reroute node
or have a node selected, press a shortcut and replace it with another from the list

fine small things I love about Blender/Cycles w/ Wrangler
