Im on a pretty limited budget, is a core i5 9300 adequate for rendering projects? (im an architecture student and my scernes wont be getting too heavy)

In that segment I'd much rather go with Ryzen R5 3600. That being said, doing a quick search for the i5 9300 turns up only laptop CPUs... Are you buying this for a desktop PC or something portable?

No laptop CPU alone is quite sufficient or even adequate for offline rendering (I remember fondly my full-night rendering nights with worst Vray IR settings in college....good times) but thankfully we have pretty damn good denoisers that finish the job so that makes even terribly weak CPUs ok-ish.
(Even without dedicated GPU card, the Intel Denoiser will do fine and fast job with weak CPU).
