This is ortographic top projection of this scene. (i don't know how insert image from attachment in middle of post)

There is thin light source (full direct), that create a light beam. This emitter is tilted slightly down and create light path on floor by deflecting from colored mirror walls.

(Sorry if my english not well :( )

Is it long to render ?

Because a rotation of the central prism would give a quite mesmerizing animation !! :)

light tracing should work better for this kind of scene

About 15 hours.
I have pretty slow processor for Corona. Look at the render stamp.

light tracing should work better for this kind of scene
I will try.
But before i tried all engines for caustic, and only vcm and ppm give me a normal result. May be i do something wrong?

I tried and lighttracer is working in this scene. What limitation of this engine?

As far as i understand PPM work with glossy dielectrics now very well to?

I planning make another image (not technical) and still dont know which engine i should use.

yep, it also works pretty bad. It can be improved to work reasonably well, but there is no point, since BDPT/VCM is so much better anyway.

Tell me about this VCM. It have limitations or some things / settings that I should know?
