Hey,

working on a product render for a wine column.
This is the rack/shelf

would love to get some feedback for how to improve render.

It's going to be printed in a booklet so CMYK
2000 x 200 pixels 300 DPI
Has to be on pure black background
Has to be set camera angle shown

I've used a hdri for general lighting and then a series of corona lights

no sure how to progress from here, any advice?
product shots/infinite environments are not my strong suit

For product shot, i would go with very soft shadows and neutral white balance. Also try to lit up your product as uniformely as possible, rear part is too dim on the wine rack. When you displaying dark product on black background, use rim light to separate object from background. And check your UV mapping, because now wood grain goes wrong in some parts.

To me it looks like you also got a bit too much of perspective distortion (wide field of view) working against you. Think as a photographer! Consider the work as a Product or Portrait photography. select better lenses (use focal range ~ 50 - 85 mm). And move a bit further away. Frame the product evenly but give it some air to breathe ;)

this texture should have that direction, also make sure what all sides and other wood materials have the same scale textures, wood planks looks much bigger in textures
