Title: Moonlight system
Post by: Jpjapers on 2019-02-20, 14:56:32
It would be nice to have a moonlight option in corona sun and also have this affect corona sky colour etc when used in a daylight system.

This has been requested so many times before, that I guess this post will be regarded "double post". But never the less it would still be very useful. So + 1000 for this :)

If this ever gets implemented Ondra should put in an easter egg where the smiley face turns into a werewolf smiley under a full moon setup.

Actually the Monlight works almost like the sunlight, just different scale and intesity!
So you can use the Sun system from corona and lower the intensity and temperature, increase the size of the sun and with a cellular noise do the stars.

Thanks, i know it can be done but the issue with your scene is that its graded down to -8 exposure. In reality the camera would have to increase exposure to see in moonlight so im looking for a physically based moonlight really.

Well, that's easy, sun is about 400 000 times brighter than a full moon. That means Corona sun at 0,0000025 intensity and at default size, should give you pretty much physically accurate moon :] Just don't forget to turn off the sky!

If only you could drop it that low!

Yeah too low to actually use real life values but a 0.001 gets you very close to it and you can use a 0 exposure instead... anything lower its a problem for sure :D

Actually you can, but as noted above, it's just unpractical. Combination of higher intensity and higher exposure will give you the same visual result.

A request for moon and stars was filed on the Ideas Portal, so that is where to track anything similar to this request in the future. https://chaos.aha.io/ideas/ideas/CMAX-I-20 (https://chaos.aha.io/ideas/ideas/CMAX-I-20)
