Title: Stream A / B render - how to turn off
Post by: univocaldog on 2019-01-22, 14:11:22
Hi, I'm just started to use Corona Renderer.
I'm working on VR project, using Spherical camera projection, monoscopic.
When I render my animation, Corona process each frame twice, and saving them as Stream A_myname and Stream B_myname files (it doubles time of render).
Anyone know how to turn it off?

More information would be good - Cinema 4D or Max? Which Corona version? Is this with a CoronaCamera, and can you share a grab of the settings? I have never heard of or noticed anything called "Stream A" and "Stream B" so I am not sure that's a Corona thing (could just be I have never used the set up you are using, mostly I was rendering stereo VR) - can you share a scene that shows this behaviour?

Cinema 4D R19, camera have CoronaCamera tag.
Here's screenshot from picture viewer (attachment), on bottom there is info about Stream A. After 55 passes, it starts to render this frame again (Stream B - same 55 passes), then next frame Stream A.
Render preset in attachment.

Any chance to have a scene (there's the private uploader at https://corona-renderer.com/upload, or you can strip the scene down to just a cube and the camera). At very least, a screen grab of the Corona Camera Tag settings would be good.

BTW, there shouldn't be any sort of set up in C4D for VR to render out the project, it should all be done in the Corona Camera Tag only. Could be you have some C4D VR setting that is creating the stream a and b - hard to tell without seeing the scene, and / or Corona Camera Tag set up.

Here's a scene that shows all you need - no special Cinema 4D settings (nothing for VR), just enabling Spherical in the Corona Camera Tag without the Stereo option checked. Doing a render only saves one image, and only renders once. When doing stereo, Corona renders both eyes to one image anyway, which is why I suspect this two image "Stream A and B" is a Cinema 4D setting of some sort - which you wouldn't need :)

EDIT - which is backed up by this article, which says the Stream A etc naming is what Cinema 4D does - you don't need Cinema's VR or Stereo enabled to render though, just use the Corona Camera Tag settings. http://www.c4dcafe.com/reviews/r13/3dstereo.html

Ok, i think i might found reason, why it renders stereo. In attachment are settings of my camera.
It have 2 tabs colored yellow - stereoscopic and spherical, while your's got only spherical.
Do you know how to fix it? I would like to use mine camera, since i'm half way through rendering my animation.

Don't use any settings in the native C4D camera (where the Spherical and Stereo tabs are) - leave those just as if it were a regular, ordinary camera (you can check the settings in the scene I uploaded, where it is indeed a regular ordinary C4D camera). All the spherical stuff etc. should be set only in the Corona Camera Tag (down at the bottom of the list, and it only has the one tab called Tag)
