Title: [solved] Corona 3 Material Library missing Materials/Bitmaps
Post by: andreacogo on 2019-01-08, 12:35:22
Hi everyone, first time in the Corona forum for me so I hope it's the correct section ;)

We just switched to Corona 3 and we soon noticed that some materials from the default library are gone (roof tiles, brick walls, some fabrics..) Is this by design or am I missing something?

What is more problematic is that also the bitmaps were deleted during the installation process from the assets folder (I assume, can't check this since we updated all the machines at once). I am trying to re-render an old project and missing those assets.

Is there a place where I can download them again?

Thanks for the support! I hope the question is clear and useful to other users!

Cheers,

Andre

Hi, IIRC assets in Corona library were renamed at some point, so that can be the reason why Corona can't find them now. If that's the case, then probably the only solution would be to reinstall an older version, copy all assets in your project folder and then install V3 again.

Thank you @romullus.

Yes that seems the only viable solution, and it's quite an easy one luckily.

I just reinstalled corona 2 and found the maps. The Material Library was included in the "typical" installation mode so I think other people will probably have the same problem.

There are 453 bitmaps in the assets folder generated by Corona2 installer, as opposed to 163 with Corona3 so there might have been some renaming going on but mostly some materials have been removed.

Thanks again for your solution!

Hi everyone,

just wanted to get back with the solution I received via a support ticket.

The problem had nothing to do with corona 3. I was launching the corona installer from a folder that contained also and old MaterialLibrary file.

"During the installation, the installer will try to download and install the latest available material library. If it is unable to download the library or it finds the library installation file in the same folder that the installer is being run from, it will install that material library.
The material library install file is called "MaterialLibrary" without any file extension"

Thanks to Vladimir from support team.

Best,

Andrea
