Title: [solved] My environment map will not rotate or adjust at all
Post by: John.McWaters on 2019-01-07, 15:02:13
I open up the environment window in 3dsMax and apply an environment HDR map. It shows up in my interactive rendering just fine.

When I open up the slate material editor to adjust to U offset between 0 and 1, the environment in the interactive render does not rotate. Additionally, when I adjust the RGB offset to brighten the map, it does not adjust either. Is there some sort of lock I might have activated that would keep these adjustments from happening?

You probably need to make sure that the map is instanced when you drag it from the material editor to the environment slot (or vice versa), else it's going to be a copy and changes won't show up.

That worked, thank you!

Also a note for future generations: keep in mind that "1" means "360 degrees" in U offset, so if you enter values like 1, 2, 3, 5 - you will see no change at all, as the environment will be always rotated by a multiplier of 360 degrees. Values like 0,5 or 0,25 will work fine though, and you can also use dedicate degree controls in Corona Bitmap.
