how much it should took "Computing secondary GI"
Because sometimes its take few minutes to start render and sometimes take more then hour to start in the same scene without modify anything in the scene ..
-
It depends on the scene but it shouldn't take hours, definitely. This happens at random? Can it be reproduced?
-
And i forgot to mention i resume the render from file
sometimes i need to restart my computer but still take more then 40 min to start render

i dont think the scene too complex :)
-
If that's all there is in the scene, then it's probably not too complex. However, resuming from file may be a bit slower than having a scene already loaded and previously rendered in IR. Also, if any non-native Corona materials are used (like Siger shaders and such), this could make the preparation phase and secondary illumination calculations slower.

thanks for the quick respond
well this is my 1st render in corona .. i start using corona from week ago , everything in the scene such light material are corona mtl
and i even try to start this render from scratch and still takes too long like +40 min

Would you be willing to upload the scene for us to have a look? You can use our uploader, here: https://corona-renderer.com/upload
-
i will upload it , its going to take a while
thanks
-
Thank YOU. I'll take a look at it and write out my findings. Just let me know when it's uploaded and the filename so I can find it.

any idea about why its took too long ? =)
-
Sorry for the delay. I checked your scene and I am not able to reproduce the issue. Always getting 15s UHD precalculation time.
I have two ideas:
1) The super long time might have been caused by running out of RAM - in such case the UHD will be basically calculated on the HDD instead of in RAM, and it's super slow. This can happen in case of running out of RAM.
2) I can see that you are using bitmap proxies in this scene. Please disable this option. Go to Asset tracker (Shift+T) > Bitmap Performance and Memory and make sure "Enable Proxy System" and "Enable Bitmap Paging" are UNCHECKED.
