hello there,
I am planning to make my next build for Corona and this time I am planning to go for AMD instead of Intel.
I am considering Threadripper 1950X
I just wanted to know what is necessary for corona renderer,
fewer faster cores or more slower cores?
please suggest your opinion. thanks

The rule for all programs, high Hz for working(creating scene) because many operations in 3ds max still single core and will be better if you have faster cpu for single core operations that's where Intel have advantage. For rendering render engine is using all cores, that's where AMD have advantage because it have more cores at cheaper price and faster rendering in full load.
Also for AMD cpu it's better to have high frequency RAM

I find your CPU choice is spot on,
If you can stretch to a 2950WX or 2970WX they are lower GHZ but rendering is so much faster which makes up for the slightly slower speeds for general max tasks.
That said if you are only going to be modelling/creating on it and you have dedicated render nodes to do all your rendering pick the i9 5GHZ or something for best performance.
I like a balance though. Also look at the GTX 1080TI for corona new denoising features
