Not sure why you would need a script you can just change the perspective viewport FOV in viewport configuration. Right click on the field of view icon in the bottom right with the rest of the viewport tools (looks like an open triangle with arc inside) and then set your FoV to whatever you want then > apply to active view.

I know it was made from there. Instant correction and nice to have handy. why not use;)
