Title: 3DS max general help
Post by: aaouviz on 2018-11-18, 11:55:19
Hi All,

So I'm basically a complete newbie when it comes to 3DS Max. I'm previously a Rhino user, but Corona sucked me in a few months ago...

Coming from Rhino, modelling in max is quite difficult for me. Every operation seems backwards, inside out and completely counter-intuitive. I google a lot, but rarely find decent answers to my queries... and almost always end up on https://knowledge.autodesk.com or https://forums.autodesk.com... both of which I think are awful. Funnily enough, these sites reflect the unfriendly UI of max soo so perfectly...

Does anyone know of a better forum for 3DS max general help and queries??

OR

Is it cool to ever discuss max questions here on the corona forum boards?

Thanks!

This guy Arrimus 3D is acclaimed and has an easy way of explaining and has lots and lots of videos with modeling and practical examples on how to obtain mostly everything in 3ds max.

Hi. Sad to see that these sites have been turned into some pretty useless places. Personally I find Max's help files the best place to start. Press F1 and the help files opens. And if you hover the mouse over the subject you want to know about while pressing F1, then in many cases the help will open about this exact case.

Hope it helps

Yep, love this guy. He's actually very great to learn from. Thanks for recommendation anyway, glad I've been looking in the right place so far...
