Hello,
I have some issues with materials since I upgraded with the new BETA release...
It looks like a gamma difference but I don't know why...
If you look at the picture, you have left a preview of the pillow material and right the pillow as it's rendered !!!
My scene is composed by just a corona sun and corona sky and there is no tone mapping effect...
Why do I have such a big difference ? (this is also true for the sofa material)
Thanks for your help.
Best.

I would say the difference is just lighting.
The preview is a low level warm side light (like a small lamp). Your scene has a full size door or window with sunlight streaming into it. You might have to compensate (darken) in your material build a bit - or just balance it in post.

This is also one of the big benefits of Interactive Rendering, as you can create your material with the precise scene lighting.

You're right but what is annoying is that I have the same problem with the wood material for example... where I have high res pictures of wood and when I render it's way lighter than the picture... In my opinion, the preview of the material should be near what you get in a render scene (with normal light and no tone mapping or lut applied to it)...
This really reminds my of the beginning of linear workflow in C4D where you had to manually correct the gamma of a picture when used in a material...

But every render scene is different. For example, most of my renders are dark concerts and television sets.... Very different then a typical arch viz interior, so how can you gauge where the right level for preview is? I agree, it would be nice to have more control over the lighting in the previews. Tom is right, you should build you materials on a shader ball inside your scene with the IR. I only use the preview as a guide that things are happening, I use the IR window to dial in values.

it's true that interactive rendering is a big plus of corona compared to other render engine...
Thanks all for your feedback...
