Title: Displacement in CoronaLayeredMTL ?
Post by: fleksor on 2018-11-06, 17:46:20
Hi

I am working on texturing a landscape output from Worldmachine.

Currently I have a CoronaLayeredMTL with different PBR textures for each layer of the landscape however it seems that the displacement does not work for anything other than the Base mtl slot - (either the native texture displacement or the CoronaDispMod).

Is there any other way to mix and layer displacements?  Or another way to make complex landscape materials?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, that's a limitation of the LayerMtl. Afaik, the only workaround would be to use a Composite map in a CoronaDisplacement modifier on the object instead.

Hi. Unfortunately you need to build a layered/mixed displacement map in either the base mtl or the DispMod.

This isn't different than in many other renderes, but I sure hope Corona will present a more user friendly approach some time soon.

Hope it helps
