Title: Settings for too reflective scenes
Post by: mrsacan on 2013-12-13, 09:03:21
Hi,

As you can see in the attached image (which is a really early draft, I'm aware it's dark, emtpy etc) even I use a long render time, scene is still kinda noisy. Almost all of the surfaces have reflective materials. I used two seperate material/object system for walls though (glass + reflective panel) so it may be the reason, I'm not sure.
I'm using A5, I only changed 2nd GI to HD-Cache (only change affects quality+time) and exposure c. + highlight c. (which are not affecting pixel quality as far as I know)

I'm still a newbie, so if there's anything I'm missing here (especially for settings part), I would like to learn what would it be.

Did you tried to put some more lights? i think it will resolve much faster and the noise will be gone

Well, changing shadow type (refraction mode) made a big effect.
I expected longer render time when I selected solid shadows but not like this long. So I assume there was a problem with settings but, looks like there's not.
