Hi
i have to model a public place.
I have to model/texture these kind of floor. What is for you the best way to obtain this?
Texture?
Model?
Plugins like....??

Both should work deping on how close you are. If you are very close i would model it, if the cam is further away a texture might be just fine.

extrude and apply different displace material

It doesn't really look like it follows a consistent pattern so you could use the topology dialog to simulate it.
create a plane or surface with square sized segments > edit poly
Modelling ribbon > polygon modeling dropdown menu > Generate topology
Click on the second pattern for tiles.
Then you can use a detach faces script to separate.
