You say "open the EXR file" - do you mean CXR file? For LightMix, you have to save to CXR, which is Corona's own modification of EXR (it adds in data for LightMix and Denoising, for instance).

Can you provide the steps you followed to save the CXR (the more detail, the better, just to help us)? Along with info such as which version of Corona - also uploading the scene and / or the CXR could prove useful, can use the private uploader if necessary(https://corona-renderer.com/upload)

I use 3dsmax 2017 and corona dailybuild 3
but i had the same problem with corona 2

I put the light in the scene.
the I click in generale settings> ligthmix set up.
Then I render.

I save in .cxr file

is the right workflow?

Shouldn't have any effect, it's normally unchecked (I actually have no idea what it does :) ). Works for me without it checked anyway.

It could be that you didn't save as .cxr with the BEAUTY pass selected in the VFB dropdown.
If you're changing the lightmix values in the VFB it will change to LightMix and the corresponding .cxr will be for that view only.

This didn't seem to be the case in my tests, saving to CXR should save all the layers no matter which view you are in in the VFB (as far as I know).

Now seems it's working

In the VFB:

-If you click the "Save" button in the upper left corner, this will save only your currently visible render element in the format of your choice (so if you select beauty and click "Save", it will save only the beauty pass, without any other elements such as the lightmix, even in the CXR format)

-If you click and hold on the "Save" button and select "Save all, this will save each separate render element as a separate file (of any format you choose)

-If you click and hold on the "Save" button and select "Save CXR", this will store all the information from the VFB (all render elements, including the LightMix) inside a single CXR file <--- this is the option you need
Alternatively, you can click "Save CXR..." in Render Setup > Scene.

I am guessing that when it did not work, you just pressed the "Save" button.

I will see if this could be improved so that clicking "Save" would always save LightMix and other elements, but not really sure about it.
