Title: Vray converted Scene weirdness
Post by: WAcky on 2018-09-12, 14:38:52
Hiya,

Just about threw my workstation out the window waiting for vrayRT or IPR to produce even a preview so I converted the scene to Corona but now I only get black material editor previews...
Just checked a different scene made with Corona and it works fine so this seems to be scene specific.

Restarted max, ran the converter again but no luck. Any ideas?

Check if Corona is also set as material editor renderer - render setup>common tab>assign renderer

Ok i'll keep that in mind for next time. Odd that the converter didn't pick that up?

It's not Converter's job to watch for your render settings, it's up to you how you want to render materials in the editor ;]

Except when you ask the converter to switch renderer to corona?

Just press that little lock icon next to the material editor renderer selection and have no trouble ever again.

Check out solution #1: https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000568654
It's from an old version of Max, but should look similar.

I think I binned the scene because I was a couple of hours away from a deadline but my gratitude is for future problems :)
