Title: Distributed rendering and Render farm issues
Post by: Simonlp on 2018-09-07, 11:28:02
Hello Guys

I usually use distributed rendering with all my renders and have almost no issues, but on this particular render I had a specific object that behaved very weirdly.

It is a counter for a shop that has been through multiple revisions, so the geometry is definitely not ideal in terms of polygons and mesh.

I have no visual issues whatsoever when rendering on my local pc, but when I use Distributed rendering (or Rebus Farm), the geometry goes all over the place and ruins the entire render...

As I said it's only that single object (the counter) which is a problem, and so I don't think it is an issue with camera placement and the two machines not being synced up.

Any help is very much appreciated!

Here are the renders in question (and the renders with no issues that was rendered locally):

What does the wireframe of that piece of geometry look like?

What does the wireframe of that piece of geometry look like?

Looks like this:

As I said, not ideal, but it shouldn't result in weird geometry like that when using DR... right?

was the counter model made by you, or imported from another program?

I would try resetting xform and collapsing the model

1.)select your desk and click the unlink selection button,
2) go to the utilities tab then > Reset Xform
3) collapse to editable poly or mesh

see if that works out.

This seems to have worked!

Thank you very much for your input, will keep the solution in mind for future reference :)
