Title: Optical Zoom
Post by: NEO-N on 2018-09-06, 06:30:22
Really useful and helpful ! Workaround for me is to play with focal lenght. From 50mm to 300...Optical zoom is the magic feature : https://www.facebook.com/groups/FStormGroup/permalink/1906099666353109

I can't see how this is different from max's 2d pan and zoom, which is already supported by Corona in interactive rendering.

Yes, it looks exactly the same as the 2D Pan and Zoom feature (https://corona-renderer.com/blog/corona-renderer-1-6-for-3ds-max-released/), with one difference being that it's independent from what you see in the viewport (not sure if it's an advantage or not).

Eww...and again. No love for Cinema4D haha. I thought this kind of feature would be "universal" (cross host application : cinema 4D, 3ds Max etc).
How is this done in C4D for other renderers? (I mean, is there a native C4D feature for this?)

Please add this optical zoom in VFB window, not just in a viewport. In my opinion most people use IR in VFB rather than in viewport most of the time, so why not to add it in vfb? Thanks.

There is something different, less "handy" than the Fstorm OpticalZoom or Corona 2Dpan, with Redshift and Arnold, in the IPR window, you can over ride the original resolution (the native one from the C4D settings) to anything you want. Scale it in % or pixels. You have to do it manually, it can be faster with Scale (in %). I don't really use it since it's not as handy as the Corona or Fstorm version.

Eh, c'mon... do as you would do in real life, with real Camera - use Focal Length or/and Sensor Size...

There is a difference when doing 360s if I'm not mistaken.
