Title: 3ds Max Hair and Fur
Post by: ac1867 on 2018-09-04, 11:46:00
Hi All, just a quick question.

Am I right in thinking that the 3dsmax hair and fur modifier should take on the colours and material settings of the object it's applied to? And if so, how?

Because mine doesn't :(

Thanks
Andy

It either takes the colors from the modifier settings, or from a material applied to it (through the custom shader slot). The behavior you described is from older versions of Corona.

OK thank you.

So how can I get the Hair and Fur to take on the material I have as a diffuse? Screen shot attached

You have to disable custom shader and apply the checker map to roots and tips colour in H&F material rollout.

This is a known method, but what if the base object is not flat? ;)
