Title: Only one processor working every change while interactive rendering
Post by: lupaz on 2018-08-23, 17:19:03
Hi all.

The image shows my processors working while interactive rendering. When I make a change in the scene, only one processor works for a while.
Is this normal?

Thanks.

I'm using Max 2016 and Corona 1.6

What changes are you doing? 20s one core utilization is too much. It should be under 1s drop.
Do you see some changes in render during 20 seconds? If not, then some of your objects have rich modifier stack, or your are using some plugin wich is working with mesh and is rebuilding it, or other staffs which can only utilize one thread in viewport and during IR preparation phase.

Regular changes: material color, moving objects, light intensity...nothing special. It’s a heavy scene with a couple of heavy xrefs though.
Would large amount of geometry cause this?

Try to remove xrefs and you will see if it will be different

Thanks Bzuco.
I'm still testing.
It seems that everything works fine when I first start Max, but after a few hours of using interactive, it takes longer and longer.
