Title: Fresneloff
Post by: Marian on 2018-08-06, 19:45:08
Hi. How can I translate this effect from 3Dmax into C4D?

What does it do? Turn off the fresnel effect? Is it somewhat related to glossy fresnel?
What happens when you play with the IOR slider?

They removed support for this fix a few Corona versions ago.
You will get the same frensel taint no matter what you do.

Sorry, I still don't get it. What does it do and what do you want to achieve?

It used to negate the Fresnel Falloff in reflection intensity (in effect giving you a perfect mirror from any angle).

@Marian

This thing probably just maps the IOR to some insane value. What Dubcat is saying is that in the past if you wanted to have the IOR be really super duper mirror like (so that means an insanely high value) this kind of enabled you to go above the Corona IOR limit of 999.

That workaround has been removed now so there is no difference at all. 999 is the highest you can get.

Please feel free to correct me Dubcat.
