Hi
I want to upgrade from 64gb to 128gb memory on this board with two xeons - would any registered ecc memory work? (8x16gb modules) Or is there anything to be aware of?
for example this one? https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Micron-128GB-8X16GB-PC3L-12800R-DDR3-1600-240Pin-ECC-Registered-Server-RAM/152713041932?hash=item238e68180c%3Ag%3AJnMAAOSwgiRZxh12&_sop=15&_sacat=0&_nkw=128gb+registered+micron&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313&LH_TitleDesc=0
or even cheaper would work? https://www.ebay.com/itm/128gb-8x-16gb-Samsung-M393B2K70DMB-YH9-4Rx4-PC3L-10600R-ECC-Reg-Server-Memory/292621398695?epid=1001652468&hash=item44219832a7%3Ag%3AcUYAAOSw5HBbNQOC&_sop=15&_sacat=0&_nkw=128gb+registered&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313&LH_TitleDesc=0%7C0
Thanks

I suppose if you want to be a 100% sure then you can check the memory qualified vendors list for the motherboard in question. You can find it here -> http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/server/ESC2000_G2/Manual&QVL/ESC2000_G2_Z9PE-D8_WS_AVL_UDIMM_20160219.pdf?_ga=2.203706325.43034677.1531947779-1763306448.1521316121
I have never not used the list before but if I try and form an educated guess I'd say any memory will do as long as its the right speed and is ECC. Perhaps someone else has more experience and is going to debunk that.

it´s really hard to find memory that matches the numbers on that list so I would really appreciate if somebody could confirm that I can buy any ecc registered memory

Crucial and Kingston have compatibility checking on their websites, where you can pick your board and they show compatible memory. This way you can find more options than on Asus list.

I haven´t found anything that would help me - kingston website provided no results and crucial only offered 2x16gb kit
