Title: Strange behaviour corona 2.0 final
Post by: jjaz82 on 2018-07-03, 17:55:21
Hi, i tested this scene in two different pc an i7 3960x and a dual e5 2650 v3

A dual xeon should be faster than i7 but it is not.

it's strange or I'm missing something?

Thank you.
Nicola

What do the machines get with the Corona Benchmark?

These are the benchmarck results.

xeon have double speed.

TY! The Benchmark result with the Dual Xeon being faster is what I'd expect, based on other benchmarks of the same processors, so I guess that eliminates some hardware issues in the machine to know it can work as expected. Can you share the full specs of the machines, for example memory might be an issue, if for some reason the Dual Xeon has less memory than the i7 - running out of memory would cause a significant slowdown.

It may also be useful to share the scene too, there's a private uploader to send it just to us rather than share publicly (https://corona-renderer.com/upload (https://corona-renderer.com/upload))

both of pc have the same ram (32gb), I paid attention to the ram's use, it did not exceed 6gb.

i have upload the scene

thank you for answer

I can't see the scene in the uploader (may still be uploading?)

Meantime, can I ask if the new light solver was enabled?

Just a thought, does this happen on those machines with other scenes? In particular, any scenes that don't use ForestPack?

Hi,

Apologies that it has taken quite a while to get back to you regarding this one.

I have done some tests without forestpack in the scene and it renders quicker on our dual xeon machine. Which leads me to believe that the issue lies within forestpack.

If it is still an issue I'd suggest contacting iToo to further assist you.

Thanks,

Rowan
